Wine Tasting & Educational Experience

Wine Tasting & Appreciation Experience

Every second Wednesday night in The Wine Room we hold regular Wine Tasting events. These include tasting at least 6 wines from our host winery and enjoying tasting plates from our menu. Wine Tasting runs from 6:00 to 7:00pm allowing you time to then enjoy dinner either in The Wine Room or at the Bistro Seaforth.

PHILIP SHAW WINE TASTING

Join Damian Shaw, as he showcases 6 different wines from Philip Shaw wines.
“I think great wines should have silk, a softness, a texture – in chardonnay and pinot particularly but to some degree it should be in all wines. The tannins should be elegant and soft. It’s about finishing a wine off, not refining it, but getting it right. It’s in the making – a marriage between the vineyard and the winemaking”. Philip Shaw

Wednesday 25th July | 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Tickets $15 per person

PREMIUM REDS TASTING

For this tasting at The Wine Room we have hand selected wines that provide a wonderful cross section of red wine styles. We’ll start with the lovely intensity of Tasmanian Pinot Noir, and then two medium bodied European wines.
Followed by two styles of Shiraz … the contemporary ‘The Beauty’ from Hentley Farm, and then the traditional Bremerton’s ‘Old Adam’ Shiraz with 22 months oak fermentation.

And we’ll finish with Cabernet from Margaret River and the Pyrenees (about 3 hours north west of Melbourne). The varieties chosen are from regions that excel in that particular variety.

’16 Derwent Pinot Noir, Tasmania  – Intense bright fruits, spice and briar
’15 Joseph Druihan Morgon, Cru Beaujolais FRANCE  – Deep garnet colour. Cherry and wild berries. Fleshy on the palate. 100% Gamay grape variety
’14 Ricasoli Brolio Chianti Classico DOCG, Tuscany ITALY –  Lovely fine tannins from 80% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot
’16 Hentley Farm The Beauty Shiraz, Barossa Valley – Soft, expressive and complex
’14 Bremerton ‘Old Adam’ Shiraz, Langhorne Creek –  Rich fruit flavours with elegant well integrated oak
’14 Finisterre Cabernet Sauvignon, Margaret River –  Layered earth and cassis. Silky texture. Sweet dark fruits
’15 Taltarni Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Pyrenees VIC  – Rich and intense with a velvety tannin finish
